The trail will take several years to complete, but progress is steadily being made. The following projects are underway to advance the vision for the trail, and its related improvements.
A system of signs has been developed to help people navigate to and from the trails, Beacon, and Cold Spring. View the logo and sign designs developed for the trail.
The environmental review kicked off with a public hearing on the draft scoping document in November 2016. We'll be taking content back out to the public in early 2018. Stay tuned!
The trail construction will be broken down into roughly seven sections. Check here for status updates on the project as sections go from design and engineering to construction to complete!

This portion of the trail, north of Fishkill Creek, is on existing trails in two Scenic Hudson Parks:

Long Dock Park

Fair Street Sidewalks
This portion of the "trail" involves sidewalks through the Village of Cold Spring. The northern portion of Fair Street, however, lacked sidewalks. This project extends the sidewalks to the intersection of Route 9D where pedestrians can hop onto a bark mulch trail to Little Stony Point.

Washburn Parking Lot
This parking lot opposite Little Stony Point will be completed by August 2017.
Estimated Completion: Summer 2017
This will be the first section of new trail constructed as part of the larger Fjord Trail project. It will connect the Breakneck Ridge Trailhead to the Breakneck Ridge Metro-North train stop.
